Associate of Save Our SBS
Use the Associate of Save Our SBS – online application form to apply to become an Associate of Save Our SBS. Two to four weeks after we approve your application we will invoice you for the Associate fee.

Upon completion of the application form and approval of the Committee of Management of Save Our SBS Inc the above fees are until the end of the fourth financial year after the date on which payment is received. For example, a person who became an Associate in February 2012 would remain an Associate until 30 June 2015.
What happens after I complete the form?
Once we read and approve your application, we will send you an email with an invoice for the appropriate fee (as above). As we are a volunteer organisation, there may be a delay before you hear from us. If you have not heard from us one month after applying, it is because you either supplied the wrong email address or your email filter settings were too strong. Some email accounts wrongly filter mail as junk when it is not. Any problems, try our Contact page. Please look in your junk or spam folders first in case our email was wrongly filtered to there.
Other important information
Admittance to become an Associate is at the discretion of the Committee of Management of Save Our SBS Inc. Associates are not full Members and are not mentioned in the Model Rules. Under the Rules, the Committee of Management is allowed and required to oversee the organisation and as such may create positions, such as Associates. Although the Rules do not formally provide for Associates to participate in meetings Save Our SBS Inc may invite a person who is not a Member to attend and speak. Our approach is to include Associates as much as possible in discussions and at public Meetings because we value the important contribution that Associates offer.
The Committee of Management is allowed to make policy consistent with the above.
Only Members have full voting rights.
Joining as a Member
To become a Member, the Rules of the Association require that a person who wishes to become a Member must be nominated and seconded by two existing Members who must sign as “personally” knowing the applicant. If you are not known “personally” to two Members, the most practical way to join as a full Member is to become an Associate first and get involved as an active volunteer so that over time you become “personally” known by a couple of existing Members. Eventually those Members would then be in a position to nominate and second the Associate to join as a full Member.
The Committee of Management prefers that a person be an Associate for at least 12 months before applying to become a Member.
Application to join as an full Member is contained at APPENDIX 1 (page 17) of the Rules of the Association for Save Our SBS Incorporated.
Other ways to become involved
Other ways to become involved with Save Our SBS are to participate in our campaigns and or subscribe to our occasional eNewsLetter. There is no charge.
If your time is limited, you might simply choose to donate to us.
However should you wish to become more actively involved you might wish to join Save Our SBS as an Associate of the organisation.
If you wish to become an active volunteer you are strongly encouraged to sign up as an Associate. You may also sign up as an Associate even if you do not wish to volunteer your time.
